TRI-MAC
Trichocereus Macrogonus
Blue San Pedro · Echinopsis macrogona
Description
Trichocereus macrogonus, often called Blue San Pedro for its distinctive blue-green hue, is a columnar cactus native to Bolivia and Peru. It is characterized by pronounced angular ribs (usually 6-7), short spines, and a waxy epidermis that gives it that prized bluish sheen. It is a moderate to fast-growing species that can reach 4-5 metres in height. In the European nursery market it is highly valued for its unique colour, which provides an interesting visual contrast when combined with other Trichocereus varieties in greener tones. It produces large white flowers.
