TRI-SPA
Trichocereus Spachianus
Golden Torch · Echinopsis spachiana
Description
Trichocereus spachianus, known as Golden Torch, is a columnar cactus native to northern Argentina. It is distinguished by its golden spines that contrast with its bright green epidermis, creating a very attractive visual effect. It has numerous (10-15) well-defined ribs and a clean, straight columnar form. It is one of the most widely used species as a professional rootstock for its great vigour and compatibility with other cacti, making it a strategic product for nurseries that perform grafting. Besides its use as rootstock, it is valued as an ornamental plant for its elegant bearing and golden spines. It produces medium-sized white flowers.
